During ‘The Ultimate Heroic Weekend’ event held at this past Easter, those do-gooders managed to raise three grand to be given to charity.
Gamers and fans had the opportunity to have their photos taken with their favourite heroes. So in a way crime does pay… providing there’s a special photo session.
The event was held at the UK’s Omega Sektor gaming centre, it attracted over 1,300 visitors whilst it ran for four days from March 21 to 24.
”We wanted to make this something special and I think we succeeded. The crowds were amazing, with two teams playing “Task Force Omega” non-stop for 24 hours, sleeping in their chairs! I’ve never known anything like it. This was the biggest weekend that the Omega Sektor has ever seen,” said Shaun Hall, centre Manager for the Omega Sektor.
Game Designer Melissa ‘WarWitch’ Bianco gave a Q&A session during the event and artists from the Draw the World Together Foundation were present too. They were the recipients of the donation and super-hero justice; they were drawing players as their favourite comic heroes.
I’m sure the forces of darkness are already plotting their own ‘charitable’ events like tax evasion, fly tipping and the mugging of old ladies.
