The online adventures in Hyboria for console gamers is still at the whetstone, but the PC version is the ”big priority” at Funcom.
It has always been the plan for Conan on Xbox 360 to show up fashionably late 12 months later. With the needed attention of the PC version Funcom must be very busy indeed.
”The Xbox 360 version is still very much set to happen and we are working on it,” said Funcom’s Erling Ellingsen to Eurogamer.
”However, there are no dates set, even though we aim for a 2009 release. Our big priority now is, of course, the PC version and fixing the issues with it and improving it for our current players.”
The game was showcased with an Xbox 360 controller but that was thanks to SwitchBlade code monkeys, not Funcom’s lighting fast console development prowess.
The PC version of Age of Conan needs much work if they’re ever going to be able to claim that it’s truly ”steak”and ”wine” compared to Blizzard’s WoW ”burger” and ”coke”.
