Based in London, or Londinium to you Latin folk, Beatnik Games has unveiled their robotic sword fighting, self destructing, rear-end glowing videogame Plain Sight.
It’s being developed using Microsoft’s XNA tools so Beatnik hopes to released the game on Xbox Live Arcade too eventually. It’s a multiplayer game that’s due in 2009.
The game has you cut your robotic foes down to size so you collect points, and then to detonate yourself in order to keep those points banked safely.
As you getter a higher score your robotic-likeness will get bigger and bigger which means when you self-destruct you’ll take more opponents with you. Taking out more in your fiery end will get you a greater multiplier - see where this is going?
You won’t be able to hide so easily either as each robot emits a unique colour from their mechanical buttocks. This will highlight where you’ve been as it temporarily dyes the grey slabs beneath you.
Beatnik Games reckons, in a cockney way, that the game will cost about 10 pounds sterling, though Microsoft will set the price if it hits XBLA.
