Tragedy strikes the Dreamcast realm, the site dreamcast.com hasn’t been owned by SEGA for quite some time. The scammers asked users to accept an agreement and to send their console serial number to get a @user.dreamcast.com email account.
Japanese news site Mainichi confirmed this information meaning SEGA are not best pleased loyal fans and their trademarks are being illegally abused.
It should go without saying now; DO NOT use dreamcast.com and especially DO NOT send any private details to the site. SEGA was asked for an official response but as of now the only comment seems to be that “appropriate measures” will be taken.
This comes as a real kick to the crotch for many avid fans of the console as hopes were starting to climb that something magic was going to happen. I think we’ve all learned a lesson here and that lesson is this: anyone who speak’eth the line “Do you still own a Dreamcast?” is a witch and must be burned on a pyre.
I wondered what that hook was doing there. I just thought SEGA Bass Fishing was getting a new promo. Go get ‘em Sonic!
