The original was released way back in '93 with a follow up in '96. Gamers were given the reins of a militant corporation as they led cyborg operatives about the city.
Unfortunately the information stops after 'EA' and 'Syndicate' - there's no other juicy bit of water cooler gossip. Starbreeze are the ones who struck the partnership with EA to revive a classic so this could be what they were hinting at.
Ex-Bullfrogian Peter Molyneux has said he would love to revisit Syndicate and Populous but would be more than happy to see it continue on in someone else’s hands.
