2K Sports today announced that Top Spin 3, the latest release in their award-winning tennis franchise, has shipped to retailers in the United States for multiple platforms, including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo DS.
The game boasts multiple features, including the ability to play as one of many familiar ranked tennis players, including Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, and Andy Roddick. In addition, tennis legends such as Bjorn Borg, Monica Seles, and Boris Becker will be available for play. Game players can also create their own tennis pro from scratch, using the deepest create-a-player feature that the series has seen to date.
Game developer PAM Development Studio has implemented new features to the Top Spin series, including Signature Style and Evolutionary Visuals. Signature Style is a new control system that gives each player an air of individuality in their tennis strokes and skills. Evolutionary Visuals paint a picture of a tennis match as it goes on, featuring dynamic weather changes and changes in player models that include sweat, clothing stains, and signs of fatigue.
