While some fans maybe a little nervous about Crysis 2 heading to consoles, Crytek’s Cevat Yerli says that thanks to CryEngine 3 the PC version won’t suffer.
It’s all down to their new console friendly engine and its scalability, which will deliver ”kick-ass” 360 and PS3 versions and still ”push the PC” forward. The tech provides ”the horsepower”.
”We don’t need to dumb down the game; the technology provides all the horsepower we need to make a kick-ass 360 game, a kick-ass PS3 game, and push the PC gaming forward still,” said Yerli, reports IGN.
”The PC version will look better, because of the fact that the PC can do more. It will be scaling up. But on the consoles, you’re competing with console games,” he explained.
”The goal is to be the best looking game on PS3, the best looking game on 360 in the entire market.” The PC version is to compete with the original Crysis in terms of visual fidelity. The future of Crytek likes in multiplatform releases and not remaining exclusive to PC, meaning that Crysis 2 is a critical release for the German developer.
