Cryptic Studios' latest MMO is up and running for the masses, and now Champions Online already has a free expansion to look forward to in October called Blood Moon.
It looks to be a themed addition as werewolves and zombies run amok for superheroes to deal with. Cryptic also detail changes to their "retcon" system, after balance changes upset users.
"The basic idea of how it works still holds; that is, for each step you have retconed your character, the next step becomes more expensive," Cryptic on the official forums.
'Retcon' is Champions Online's own 'respec', but you can choose specifically which parts your character forgets and then reassign the unspent points. A patch went live from Cryptic which made a number of tweaks to balancing the world and its mobs.
"Additionally, the cost progression of each step is now different than it was previously. Your first few steps will be, comparatively, rather inexpensive compared to what they were. As you step deeper into your past, however, the cost will escalate," they continued.
More exciting though is the teasing shots of, which makes werewolves look kinda cool and could hopefully be patched in someday as an option for a superhero fulltime; beware their bite. Are you playing Champions Online, videogamer?
