Konami has confirmed that Lords of Shadow is in fact a Castlevania game, and Hideo Kojima’s role is to ”support them,” help them ”give birth to this Castlevania.”
Clive Barker’s Jericho developer Mercury Steam are handling the games development, and was described last year as a ”dark fairy tale” that explores ”sacrifice amidst murder and betrayal.”
While it is a new entry into the action adventure series of Castlevania, the game itself isn’t new apparently; it will involve puzzle-elements and exploration.
”My role is to support them,” said Metal Gear man Hideo Kojima. ”I’m going to help them to give birth to this Castlevania,” adding, ”In the very near future we’ll show you more and more.”
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is being released on Xbox 360 and PS3 next year, see the trailer below for the E3 teaser.
