NCsoft has apparently ‘dissed’ Worlds.com’s patent, number 7,181,690: ”System and Method for Enabling Users to Interact in a Virtual Space”. They own the MMO?
It’s surprising then that they would fire a volley at NCsoft rather than Blizzard, who commands the world’s most profitable MMO ever.
It’s likely Worlds.com is hoping to see victory against NCsoft so they could hope to take on the mega goliath Activision-Blizzard for World of Warcraft’s heinous crimes of popularity and success.

Launching in 1994, Worlds leverages its patented proprietary technology in partnership with brand leaders in specific market segments to offer users multi-user environments that have interactive Avatars, rich media graphics, text chat, voice-to-voice chat, video and e-commerce,” reads the corporate blurb. Though perhaps they need the lawsuit money to pay for a better website, because its total shite to the extreme max.
This would also technically mean trouble for all peddlers of MMO including Sony’s Home on PS3. In true festive spirit the suit was filed on Christmas Eve, and it looks like they have some credibility to their case reports Kotaku.
