Developer Titan Studios has addressed the multiplayer woes of Fat Princess, with SCEA having gone live with the patch over the PlayStation Network at the weekend.
European scavengers of cake will need to wait a little while longer for SCEE to run their little tests before it goes live in the EU. Developer Titan has ”nothing to do with this timing,” they argue.
”The Sony America connection and lag patch is now live. For those of you in North America (as well the rest of the community served by Sony America), turn on you PS3’s, fire up Fat Princess and you should get the update,” blogged Titan devs.
”Europe is coming next week. As noted in the previous blog entry, Titan Studios had nothing to do with this timing.” Okay so Europe is used to being shafted when it comes to releases, but what about the patch itself… does it fix things?
”Our experience using the patch is that successful connections occur more than 75% of the time on the first attempt,” continued the Titan blog. ”Selected servers are more fit, and so lag is reduced. A number of other problems attributed to lag are, as a result, also less prevalent. We expect server host migration to work more consistently.”
See below for why feeding a princess cake is a good thing, strategically speaking.
