Stig Asmussen, God of War III director, hopes that Dante’s Inferno will prove ”a fantastic game” and ”good competition” for team Kratos.
Some ex-GOW devs are working on EA’s hellish action game, they’re ”really good guys” notes Asmussen; gamers need more great experiences in the genre says the director.
”Outside of a few previews and a high-res trailer, I haven’t really seen much of the game. So far though, the impressions from the press sound really good,” Asmussen tells CVG.
”Some of the guys who used to work on GOW are working on Dante’s. Really good guys. I hope they make a fantastic game that serves as good competition for us. I think using Dante’s Inferno as a theme could really cook into something special - it is a very rich world to draw from.”
”As far as a threat to Kratos goes, I hope so. We need more great games in this genre!”
Can EA pull off its own God of War-like greatness?
