Yves Guillemot, that guy who runs Ubisoft, has said during their earnings call that Assassin’s Creed 2 is costing much more green that the original game.
The publisher has also announced that DLC will arrive for the game, as well as Splinter Cell Conviction and Avatar. All three games are due to release by this December. Awesome.
Yes, the Creed sequel will be ”around 20 percent more than the first one” to develop despite the team having already produced the games engine and whatnot. This is part of Ubi’s plan in which they pour cash over projects to ensure ”bigger games with higher quality”.
Ubisoft is one of the few companies in the games industry right now looking to take on legions more staff having hired 1,300 last year and adding nine new studios to the roster.
Rock on Ubi! Let’s just hope cash equals mind blowing gameplay, and story too I guess.
