Paramount Pictures have been behind the two previous Tomb Raider adventures into cinema, but now Time Warner has the license to raid tombs.
Interestingly Angelina Jolie hasn’t been attached to the upcoming project yet, signalling a fresh new direction perhaps? It’s early stages for now; the last film was 6 years ago.
When Warner increased their stake in Eidos to 19.92% in December, included as part of the deal was motion picture rights to the Tomb Raider franchise.
Warner’s own Dan Lin will produce the new movie, with Stephen Gilchrist co-producing and Eidos’ Ian Livingstone will executive produce. The new project is expected to re-imagine Lara and have little resemblance to the previous films.
