Warner Bros offer of $33m is the only bid still on the table after the deadline for submissions past, meaning ”there’s not going to be an auction.”
However, the sale of assets and the like from Midway to Warner isn’t expected to be a smooth one as some creditors are unhappy with the price tag - they seek to block it.
”No other bids came in, so there’s not going to be an auction,” Midway’s Geoff Mogilner told the LA Times.
If things go in favour of Midway then Warner will land ownership of the Mortal Kombat franchise, as well as Midway’s Chicago and Seattle studios. Exempt from the bid is the TNA property and Midway’s San Diego and Newcastle studios.
