Adventure man Dave Grossman has been evasive in his reply to the question many fans want answered, and that is will Day of the Tentacle return? He points to LucasArts.
The reason Monkey Island has taken so long to be revived is because LucasArts "were reluctant." When Darrell Rodriguez stepped in, things got moving on old adventure IP again.
"I don't want to answer that question (laughs). You'd have to ask them that," Grossman told CVG.
"They've got some really good properties and I was sorry to see them vanish and dissolve," he said, referring to LucasArts new found passion for reviving the old fan favourites.
He's currently design director for The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, in development at LucasArts. "We were actually interested in it five years ago and LucasArts were reluctant. Once LucasArts got a new president, Darrell Rodriguez a year and a half ago he was interested in old adventure game properties and he wanted to revitalise those."
"So all of a sudden it fitted in with what we wanted to do," he added. Thanks to the successful return of Monkey Island it looks hopeful that LucasArts will explore Day of the Tentacle as their next property for revival to glory. Is that your hope or do you have another in mind?
