Bruce had been reporting on the owners of the game, Evony LLC, for a good while now, uncovering various practices and ‘facts’ about the game’s creators. This in turn caused Evony LLC to file a lawsuit against him for libel, despite his claims that he was merely telling the truth. Many saw this as censorship, including us.
Evony LLC, supposedly based in America, filed the lawsuit in Australia in a move that was believed to be an attempt to make it near-impossible for Bruce to realistically defend himself.
However, merely two days into the hearing, they dropped the case. A statement issued claimed this was in deference to criticism from players of the game: “A lot of our players expressed opinions about the lawsuit, and we reacted to that,” said a spokesperson
