GTTV’s Geoff Keighley has picked up rumblings of a ”new Lara Croft project” to be named at next week’s San Francisco event; starts March 9th.
”For us it’s important that we take risks as we innovate,” said Crystal Dynamics’ Darrell Gallagher speaking with Gamasutra in an interview.
”We’ve been wanting to create an environment where innovation and risks are approached. Personally, I think the way to push that benchmark is have the belief and the conviction and ambition to achieve that goal.”
”We have a clear vision of where we want to go, and we’re really pushing some bold decisions in terms of taking those next steps.” A new Tomb Raider game has already been talked about for some time, mainly by Eidos’ lifelong president.
However GTTV host Geoff Keighley has twittered: ”Good interview with Crystal Dynamics. I’ve heard rumblings of a new Lara Croft project that’s gonna be at GDC.”
Crystal Dynamics has done a lot to reinvigorate Lara Croft, bringing her back more to her old self and having greater emphasis on the environment puzzles and hazards. Do you hope next week’s GDC holds more Tomb Raider? It runs March 9th to the 13th.
