The two new SKUs range from $342 to $399, depending on the HDD size. There'll be the usual black finish ones, as only the 160Gb has white.
Matching DualShock 3 controllers and a stand will accompany those who decide white is the new PS3 black. The 160Gb model is ¥29,980 ($342) while the larger 320Gb will set Japanese consumers back ¥34,980 ($399), reports Eurogamer.
Sony is also going to offer a PlayStation 3 Terrestrial Digital Recorder Pack, featuring a Torne TV recorder (it's like Tivo) and a 160GB black system for ¥36,980 ($421).
The current 120Gb Slim won't be getting a price drop among Japanese retailers, but Sony seem content with letting the shops decide what sales tag to use to clear up lingering stock as the new 160Gb model replaces it at the same price.
Are you a sucker for white cased hardware, videogamer?
