It’s been rumoured they’re busy with a new Hitman instalment, of which Rogers teased Io and Hitman ”go hand-in-hand.” No hint of a release.
”Oh Io is working on more than one project right now, massively so,” Rogers told Develop. ”And of course you would expect nothing else, Io and Hitman go hand-in-hand.”
The top exec also explained why Square cut the Io staff roster. “Io has been tremendously busy over the last two years,” he said, “it has launched new IPs, we’ve got Kane and Lynch 2 and another project in development.”
“Looking at all our production schedules and how they overlap,” they realised they ”had surpluses at that stage.” Are you a fan of the Hitman series, videogamer?
Personally I’d love a return to the Freedom Fighters IP, because that rebellious plumber and his squad knew how to give the Soviet machine the urban warfare finger. Oh well.
