New IP is always a challenge but Vanquish’s retail performance so far has SEGA hopeful. They need to see week one and two sales to ‘feel it out better’.
”It’s been in the marketplace for two days, we’ve seen the day one numbers and we’re reasonably encouraged, but I think we need to see the rest of week one and probably week two just to see how it’s going to play out,” said SEGA West’s Mike Hayes.
”The challenge is that it’s a new franchise and that it’s releasing head-to-head with a lot of established franchises in the busiest time of the year.” Vanquish released on Xbox 360 and PS3 October 19th in the US. It didn’t break into the UK’s top ten - it came 12th.
