Devs have been working with ”several English clubs” apparently, and it’s due to hit consoles in 2010. This all remains pure speculation… for now.
The report comes from French site Jeux Video, who say that Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and team have been working with Ubisoft to help develop the game.
”The sports genre is different - there are lots of good elements there because it is more casual, so it would bring new customers to Ubisoft. So we have something to grow there, and that’s what we are doing,” said Ubi boss Yves Guillemot back in 2008.
It’s no secret then that Ubi does want to break into the sports genre and claim some of the gamer crowd for themselves. EA Sports’ FIFA is the crowned ruler of the football videogame, with PES always nipping at its heels. Can Ubi offer something fresh?
