In fact the decision to scrap PC support ”wasn’t made in Finland,” said Remedy boss Markus Maki. That leaves it solely to Microsoft pulling the plug.
Originally the project was actually going to be released on all three major platforms but Microsoft Game Studios secured an exclusivity deal for Alan Wake. Getting the Xbox 360 version running was tough for the PC focused Remedy studio teams.
Maki notes that Alan Wake is quite a rare release in that no title update has been created for the original game or its two DLC expansions as none have been needed.
”I can’t really discuss that,” said Maki, referring to the canned PC Alan Wake. ”I will say that it wasn’t a technological call. And it wasn’t made in Finland.”
