30 days were given for PlayStation Network users to partake of the PS3 and PSP ‘Welcome Back’ offer but Sony has seen enough late traffic to extend it.
The free goods and services offered will be available until tomorrow in the US. Sony is ”not sure why” people waited so long to claim their freebie goods.
Many seemed to wait until late afternoon on Sunday only to find the Welcome Back package pulled from the US PSN. Users complained they thought they had until midnight - enough noise was made that Sony suddenly decided to extend the deadline two days.
“There were 30 days to claim it, not sure why people decided to wait. We were clear from the outset,” twittered Sony’s senior social media manager, Jeff Rubenstien. The new deadline for the US Welcome Back deal for PS3 and PSP is 9.00am PST this Tuesday.
