The most recent news for Mass Effect 3 is its delay into Q4, which means anytime from January to March next year. EA teases something else though.
Apparently there’s ”new ways to play” the third instalment, and its delay was because of ”purposefully shifting it to address a larger market opportunity.”
Frankly that last bit sounds awfully like they’ll be making it more broadly appealing, which is something Mass Effect 2 did by downplaying the more traditional RPG elements and bolstering the shooter aspects.
EA also reiterated that Mass Effect 3 would ”launch simultaneously on all platforms,” which could stretch to include the new Nintendo home console now that it’s heading for a 2012 release. Perhaps multiplayer will get in after all?
