The service acts as a super-portal much in the same way as Bungie.net does for Halo, but goes a step further. Elite will allow players to see thousands of gameplay stats, review recent matches, and leaderboards, as well as showing off heat maps that show exactly where the hot kill and death spots are on each map. Elite also features full clan support and social networking.
Call of Duty: Elite also features a premium paid subscription level which will offer all future Modern Warfare 3 DLC for free, as well as exclusive year-round competitions and events across all skill levels.
Gamers who sign up for Elite will get also get a bonus two hours of double XP on Modern Warfare 3. A premium subscription is not necessary to get the free double XP bonus.
PC gamers can already sign up for Elite at the official site here, while the software is expected to appear on PlayStation Network later today as well. Check out Strategy Informer’s preview of the service here.
