They’re ”deeply saddened” that Australia has lost ”yet another great” developer. SEGA is speaking with executives to ”explore our short term hiring strategy”.
Currently SEGA Studios Australia has an opening for an Art Director and a Senior Engine Programmer. However they’re looking to how they could expand their staff numbers.
”We are deeply saddened by the loss of yet another great Australian developer, and are sorry to see THQ’s studios close their doors after so many years of game development,” said Marcus Fielding, studio director at SEGA Studios Australia.
”We will be speaking to the SEGA executives to explore our short term hiring strategy to reflect the sudden influx of talent in Australia. We hope to be able to announce the potential for taking on more staff soon.”
With THQ’s closure of their Brisbane outfits, SEGA Studios Australia has become the largest videogame development studio in the area. THQ also effectively closed their MX vs. ATV developer as well after they ‘retired’ the long running IP series.
