Each game has reworked ”HD visuals, improved sound” and Trophy/Achievements. They’re kind enough to ”chronologically” list the included Metal Gears for us.
Naturally the HD Collection fits onto a single Blu-ray disc for PlayStation 3, but it’s not detailed how the content is split across Xbox 360’s two DVD discs. If anything it’ll be a little nod of nostalgia for the original Metal Gear Solid on the original PlayStation (2 CDs).
Konami inform us that ”HD remastered versions” of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker are part of the HD Collection, as well as ”conversions” of the original Metal Gear titles on MSX systems.
There are also ”many VR Missions” that were released alongside Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Chronologically it goes MGS3: Snake Eater, MGA: Peace Walker and then MGS: Sons of Liberty. The plots are bonkers anyway and challenging to remember.
”The METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection represents a stunning overview of one of the most iconic game series in history, and showcases the sheer talent of its legendary creator. It will allow many PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users to experience these ground-breaking titles for the first time, but with the new visual and aural improvements modern gamers expect.”
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 at an undisclosed date. Also revealed were 6-player online matches for Peace Walker, and 4-player co-op.
