This new Slim-style design will feature a 300GB hard drive and cost around GBP 186.99. Sony is ”already deep into plans” on this to shut down pirates.
Recent price drops have been doing the rounds in various retailers for the PlayStation 3 and its possible Sony will capitalise on this with a new SKU. Everything HQ reports that ”an anonymous source” informs them Sony ”are already deep into plans” on this design.
The hope is it will prove to be ‘hack-proof’, or at least in comparison to the current SKU models. The pricing in the UK would be £186.99 for this new Slim 300GB model, but timing waits for their legal action against hacker George Hotz, creator of Jailbreak.
Surely lowering the price of current SKUs that are susceptible to hacking isn’t exactly the best move given how many will be snapped up and connected to PSN?
