Even Sony are in on the discussions apparently as they are one of the world’s leading suppliers of electronics. Such a hybrid would likely network with PCs running future Windows.
December 6th sees the introduction of the new Xbox 360 dashboard which includes a greater deal of Kinect involvement in navigation using gesture and voice.
Of course Sony may resist as they’ve got their own plans to fully network all their electronic devices, and may not want to give up any bandwidth to Microsoft products and services. Already the corporate giant is talking up their improvements to Kinect for PC, which releases to companies and developers early next year.
A source for The Daily claims that Microsoft wants to ”aggressively push the Kinect into as many living rooms as possible, even those without its Xbox 360 gaming systems”. Could we have TVs that automatically pause programs and resume them when we get back on the couch as they recognise us? Have you used Kinect yet, video gamer?
