The Night Warrior was the first entry of the series and retailed in 1994, where it ported to PlayStation in 1996. More fan requests could reignite Darkstalkers at Capcom.
Game producer Yoshinori Ono has teased if they reach somewhere between half and full million of rabid fan requests, then vampire brawler Darkstalkers could get a new instalment.
In the meantime it looks like we’ll have to make do with the PlayStation Network’s offering of Darkstalkers: The Night Warrior. It’s unclear when and if the European PlayStation 3 community will be getting their digital copy.
”One day, if it goes half a million, Capcom may raise its eyebrow a little bit and I could do what I did in London in 2007 when I announced the comeback of Street Fighter,” said Ono-san, back in March.
”In the near future, with your help, it may become true. It’s on its way, because we’re pretty much where we were with Street Fighter a few years back. So keep it up.” Are you a fan of vampire fighting series Darkstalkers?
