Capcom has sent out a brief notice to press outlets that Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be delayed until the 23rd March, 2012. The game had an original release window of Winter 2011.
The game is a break from the usual Resident Evil formula as a four player tactical shooter. Players get to take control of the villainous Umbrella Security Service squad, who are sent to Raccoon City to cover up the zombie outbreak, by murdering every witness. Since the game takes place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 as a What If? scenario, players have the option of killing major series characters, including protagonist Leon Kennedy.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is due to be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
