Starting the 8th February, PlayStation Network users will find that PSN will no longer exist under its current name. All accounts are being migrated to the Sony Entertainment Network.
Functionally, there is no change at all. PSN users will find their accounts still work in exactly the same capacity; they won’t even have to change their username or password. The change is a part of Sony phasing out Qriocity and putting all of their users under a single Sony Entertainment Network banner.
According to Sony, ”The goal is for there to be one networked log-in for all Sony services. Changing the name ‘PlayStation Network account’ to ‘Sony Entertainment Network account’ helps clarify the unity between PSN and other Sony Entertainment Network services.”
The only Sony gamers who will not see a change are PlayStation Portable users, who will still log onto the classic PlayStation Network on startup.
