Yesterday, Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick criticized rival publisher THQ’s business plan, predicting the company would fold in six months.
He has since backed off his remarks, releasing a brief statement stating, ”While discussing our strategy I spoke out of turn about someone else’s. It was inappropriate and I regret it.”
Zelnick had originally stated that THQ was in trouble because the company depended on other people’s licenses, and that went on to say that THQ’s ”strategy didn’t work and the execution was bad,” and stated, ”To put it another way: the food was no good and the portions were small. THQ won’t be around in six months.”
THQ has yet to respond to Zelnick’s comments.
