Next month on PC the Japanese RPG Ys Origin will arrive via Steam, announces XSEED. It comes with the full array of Steamworks meaning achievements, cloud support and leaderboards. It's a title all the way from 2006. Still the released shots for the PC version are looking pretty and clean, although there's a distinct lack of widescreen happening. Xseed Games is a publisher founded by former Square Enix USA members. They want more Japanese goodness coming to the North American market, and Steam gives them that opening. What is Ys Origin? Well it's an RPG but what else? "The Ys series chronicles the adventures of Adol Christin, a young man with a zest for adventure and an uncanny knack for being in the right place at the right time," blurbs wikipedia . "Gameplay usually revolves around Adol, though his comrade, Dogi, is a frequent companion in his travels. Thus far, Adol has visited the regions of Esteria, Ys, Celceta, Felghana, Xandria, the Canaan Islands, and Altago." |
