Namco Bandai has announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will finally be arriving on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this September 2012. The game was announced back in October 2010 and was originally given a Summer 2011 release date.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 boasts the biggest roster in series history with more than 50 characters with expanded fight arsenals and move sets. Characters will do battle in new stages set in countries all over the world.
The game will naturally feature tag team matches, as the title implies, and will include both one-on-one fighting and solo fighter vs. a tag-team battle. The game will also feature new modes such as Pair Play mode, where up to four players each control a character in what Namco Bandai calls an ”ultimate team battle”. The Fight Lab mode allows players to customize the moves and appearance of Combot, which is essentially a trainer.
The original Tekken Tag Tournament was released in 1999 as a coin-op arcade game, and later posted to the PlayStation 2.
