Perfect World has announced that the War of Shadows expansion for their free-to-play MMO Forsaken World will be launched today, the 12th December. The expansion brings a new playable Lycan race, brand new dungeons with powerful new gear rewards, and an extensive overhaul of skills and talents.
The Lycans, as the name implies, are capable of shapeshifting into werewolf form, which grants increased power and defenses. They are capable of taking on the role of either a Priest or Assassin.
The expansion also comes with two new Challenges. The War of the Ancients is a tower defense instance that transforms players into the savage Bruten, where they keep waves of monsters from escaping the area. On the other hand, The Hell Road is a new solo instance where top performers in this new instance will find themselves ranked against their peers on a completely new leaderboard, which resets every week. Both Challenges grant their own unique rewards.
Finally, the War of Shadows expansion will feature a huge overhaul of numerous talents and skills, and Perfect World promises many skills and talents will be more powerful than their older versions.
