EA Sports is returning to the basketball space, and the publisher will be dumping the quickly-aborted NBA Elite banner, and will be going with NBA Live 13 as its next outing.
The information was revealed by a tweet from the official EA Sports twitter, which read, ”@CavsJoeG: At @EASPORTS with @kyrieirving, here getting his first taste of the new #NBALIVE13!”
“CavsJoeG” is Cavs.com writer Joe Gabriele, who was apparently playing NBA Live 13 with young Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving at the NBA/WNBA Fit All-Star Youth Celebration.
NBA Elite 11 was briefly released, but was pulled after it proved to be a buggy mess. This prompted EA Sports to take a step back from making any b-ball games to compete with the dominant NBA 2K series.
It’ll be interesting to see how the hiatus has benefited NBA Live 13.
NBA Live 10 was the last basketball game released by EA Sports.
