Sony big boss Kaz Hirai has cut more ties with his previous duties at Sony Computer Entertainment as he retires from his director and chairman role of the PlayStation business.
He will however remain a part-time Board member, as former Sony Corporation boss Howard Stringer ends his membership. Kaz Hirai is Sony’s new top boss.
Hirai-san was meant to be responsible for the Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Network Entertainment and Home Entertainment & Sound divisions as they employ fewer bosses.
Sony Corp. are in desperate need for some solid profitable revenue as they’ve been bleeding for too long. Executives are hoping that Kaz Hirai’s magic touch with the PlayStation business will be transferable to the rest of the corporate empire.
