It was announced a few days ago that 750K Xbox 360’s and 400K Wii U’s were sold during the week of Black Friday in the United States. Sony has now revealed that 525K PlayStation 3’s were sold during the same time period.
According to the publisher, bundled PS3 sales grew 15% since the same time period in 2011. All PS3 sales including hardware, software and peripherals grew 9%.
According to SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton, “We’re very pleased with the Black Friday sales results, especially the incredible reception for the PS3 and PS Vita bundles. The demand was very strong which quickly depleted our inventory across retailers nationwide.”
