The latest updates for Steam include being able to set ”what time of day Steam is allowed” to download app updates, and to ”let other games download while a game is running”.
Feel that? The world just got a little more awesome. Letting background updates run is a ”per-game setting” , but hopefully they’ll add a ‘default’ setting one day - baby steps.
Before this update all background downloads have either not started or have paused if they were already running. Of course this is utter madness if the game you’ve launched doesn’t need anything to do with the Internet. What are we meant to play to pass the time? Solitaire? Go outside in the sunshine? Socialise with chums? Ludicrous.
