The team behind this new space 4X strategy has devs from World of Warcraft and even Command & Conquer. They say this is a "True-Time" strategy, combing RTS and TBS.
Terra Ex merges science fiction with "real research data to create a universe of treacherous planets, dangerous alien life forms and endless exploration."
Developer Terra Ex Ventures has actually teamed up with NASA, specifically the Jet Propulsion Laboratory which is responsible for the Mars Rovers. "The scientists and engineers responsible for landing things on other planets are helping ensure the technologies in the game either do exist now or could exist someday," explained the Kickstarter.
This space 4X is actually a free-browser game, "which means you can play it on anything with an internet browser." An actual dedicated iOS and Android version will be made if the stretch goal is reached.
"True Time is a hybrid between a Real-Time Strategy game and Turn-Based Strategy game. Base building, research, upgrades and movement all take place in real time. When combat begins, time is segmented into rounds, allowing the player to make critical decisions, fall back or change their strategy as the battle evolves."
