According to the developer, ”Upon starting the game players find themselves sitting on a couch in a somewhat familiar living room. In front of you is a television screen with a copy of a new horror game. ‘The Witching Hour’. While you progress through this ‘game-within-a-game’ you’ll begin to notice the game world spilling out into your own world - or at least the highly immersive VR world. Completing objectives and furthering the story will amp up the intensity and blur the line between what’s real and what’s imaginary.”
Alone will be released in episodes of 45 minutes or so. Greenwood states that virtual reality games get tiring after a short while, so the focus is on shorter experiences.
