This new policy only covers EA titles bought through Origin and not third-parties. Refunds are eligible within the first 24 hours of play, or 7 days within purchase date.
The new policy went live in 20 countries today, but will have spread to all territories by September 30th. A full refund is given, and none of that ‘store credit’ nonsense.
Simply visit your Origin account’s order history and click the option to get a refund, and once you’ve answered some marketing questions as to why you didn’t like it, you’ll get your shinies back. This kind of policy is rare among digital platforms and even, on the face of it, bests Valve’s Steam policies for returns.
”You may return EA full game downloads (PC or Mac) purchased on Origin for a full refund–within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from when you purchased it, or within the first seven days after the game’s release date if you pre-ordered it (whichever of these conditions happens first),” reads the announcement.
Of course the downside is that Origin prices aren’t the kindest out there, and most probably buy retail, or via other websites, to then activate with the service and are therefore not eligible.
