This Saturday will mark three years since the launch of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, which released July 27th, 2010. To mark the occasion Blizzard is issuing a ”limited time” XP boost of 25% for multiplayer.
The StarCraft II Starter Edition will also have all three races unlocked so those who’ve yet to upgrade can try their hand at commanding the Zerg and Protoss. There’s new artsy wallpaper too.
The studio also reminds us that three years ago their devs hosted major launch events in London, Berlin, Paris, Stockholm, Moscow, Orange County, Singapore, Taipei, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia.
”For a limited time, we’ve increased the XP gains you get when you play StarCraft II by 25%,” blogged Blizzard. ”It’s the perfect time to log in and play some Multiplayer, or Versus A.I., or Training Mode games. Perhaps you’d like to level up the race you don’t play the least often. Now’s the time!”
”Once again, we’ve unlocked all three races in the StarCraft II Starter Edition. That means that any player who hasn’t yet upgraded to the full edition of StarCraft II can check out what it’s like to play from the Protoss and Zerg perspective. Combine that with Spawning, and you’ve got a holiday on your hands!”
The new wallpaper (below) is available in various sizes on Battle.net.
