Valhalla Game Studio’s third-person shooter Devil’s Third, delayed for over a year due to publisher THQ’s rapid decline, will be released in 2014, according to developer Tomonobu Itagaki.
In an interview with Japanese website 4Gamer, Itagaki confirmed that the game is still planned for release.
“Next year will be the year we’ll be releasing the console game, Devil’s Third,” he said. “At the moment, it is about 80% complete, and we can about see the end of it. However, there’s still a little more polishing that needs to be done. That’s also one of the reasons I’ve decided to work independently.”
Originally revealed in 2010, Devil’s Third fell into trouble when publisher THQ was forced to sell its assets due to financial troubles.
”For you fans out there, I’d like to apologize for making you worry,” he continued. ”We’ll be going all out next year, so please look forward to it.”
No official date yet then, but Itagaki sounds hopeful. The game is expected to ship for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. We’ll keep you updated with further details as they come out.
