Wolfenstein: The New Order will be geo-locked on PC, preventing the German and Austrian audience from accessing the International version of the game. This is due to the ban on films and video games containing Nazi symbols.
Publishers Bethesda revealed the news on their blog, confirming that they had to initiate the geo-lock in order to avoid contravening German laws. ”The German language adapted version will be available for sale via select distributors in Germany, Austria and throughout the rest of the world,” reads the post. ”Please note that the adaptation is in respect of Nazi content only, and although there are some legally required differences, the levels of violence and action remain the same as in the international version.”
Wolfenstein: The New Order will be out on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on May 20.
