Razer revealed their modular concept Project Christine at CES2014 today, an attempt to eliminate the difficulties of PC customisation.
The idea is to have a series of water-cooled modules, each of which allow you to plug in a component: optical drives, extra storage, GPU, or CPU. These will all connect to an SLI-enabled central spine, meaning that if you want to add an extra component, all you need to do is slot another module in. Or you can slowly remove them while humming ‘Daisy Bell’.
You can check out the project’s website here.
Rzaer are testing the waters here. There’s no pricing scheme planned or any solid schedule, and in an interview with The Verge, CEO Min-Liang Tan said that the idea is ”throw it out to gamers and see if people like it.”
