16- bit detective RPG Pixel Noir still has three days to go on its $97,000 Kickstarter goal, and the latest campaign update covers the one thing every hard-bitten detective walking the mean streets needs - a trusty sidearm.
"Weapons within Pixel Noir are customizable for your play style," reads the post by developers SWDTech. "The Detective uses pistols through Pixel Noir, and each one you come across will have a number of slots on it for new parts like barrels, rail attachments, grips, triggers, etc. Each modification will augment the weapons ability ranging from passive stats all the way to altering the way the gun fires entirely!"
You'll also be able to swap ammo types in and out during a gunfight, taking advantage of their special properties against certain enemies. "For example, if you were to fight an enemy who has a riot shield, you could reload mid-battle to an acid round to take down the shield faster, and then switch to a high caliber round to finish the enemy for good!"
SWDTech also promise the existence of rare special weapons, though to build them you'll need to hunt down schematics and take them to a gunsmith.
With $31,430 pledged from a $97,000 goal, the development team are also asking those interested in the game to help spread the word during the last three days of the campaign.
