Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is getting a free mission that will lead the series’ storyline into Telltale’s Tales From the Borderlands, and explain why villain Handsome Jack turns up in the adventure series.
Spoilers Jack made an appearance in early trailers for Tales, despite coming to a pretty definitive end during the events of Borderlands 2. Gearbox says the new mission will reveal just what the hell’s going on.
“Once you’ve downloaded the newest update for The Pre-Sequel,” Gearbox writes in its announcement post, “head to the Hyperion Hub of Heroism and talk to Nakayama to receive the Handsome AI mission, a quick errand that sheds some light on Nakayama’s plans to immortalize everybody’s favorite Hyperion CEO using high-tech artificial intelligence that could change things on Pandora!”
The new mission will be part of the Ultimate Vault Hunter upgrade, a free content drop that allows players to play through The Pre-Sequel a third time while maintaining their character’s stats and gear. It’s out on December 16.
